Bob Briare's Retirement

Bob Briare

Marin Professional Firefighters congratulate long time Local 1775 President Bob Briare on his retirement after serving 10 years as President, 11 years as Vice President, and nearly 40 years in total working to improve the job, safety, and working conditions Marin's Firefighters on our Executive Board. Bob's work ethic, humor, and quiet, steady leadership will serve as a model for generations of future union leaders.

On January 8, the Local 1775 executive Board voted unanimously to recognize Bob as our second President emeritus, joining retired President Steve Warner with this honor.

Former Kentfield fire chief Robert Mariani dies at 81

Bob Mariani

Former Kentfield fire chief Bob Mariani, a Marin native and former Kentfield fire chief, died Oct. 28 at his home in Lakeport in Lake County. He was 81.

Mr. Mariani, known as Bob, joined the Kentfield Fire Protection District in 1956 as a volunteer firefighter and retired in 1993, serving his final three years as fire chief.

The importance of Political Activity to our Brothers and Sisters in Public Safety cannot be overstated. Every contract, consolidation, shared services agreement, policy, procedure, worker protections, and discipline matter comes down to political action. The future of California and the Labor Movement hang in the balance.

Please ensure your members, friends, family, and neighbors all support pro-labor, pro-public safety candidates and that they are registered to VOTE via Absentee Ballot or in person on November 6th, 2018.
